Using the Corrupt Checker An undocumented feature on the program disk is the corrupt checker MDB file. This program allows you to scan a program from the presence of corruption. It's location varies on the version of Clients you're using, being located either in the CorruptCheck folder for Clients Version 2000 or the AccessCorruptCheck folder for Version 98-1. Take this file and copy it to your disk. You might create a separate folder for it, such as CorruptCheck, and copy it in there. Once copied, you need to right click on it while in Windows Explorer, and choose Properties. When the properties are displayed, uncheck read only and exit back to the directory. Double click on the file to open it in Access. The system is self documenting. Be careful because it has the ability to empty all the records out of the tables. Choose Corrupt Check and then your database, e.g., ClientsT2000.MDB. There is a browser button that allows you to find your database. Choose a Table you want to check, usually ClientsW, choose a unique identifier, usually Casenumm, and choose to check all fields. Run the program. If it finds an error, it will stop. Write down the case number and then ignore the error. It will then proceed to check the other records. If you find corrupt records, print out their contents. Then delete them (sometimes you'll have to delete records like trust or pbi first). Then renter the record. Your problem will then be corrected.
